The process of RPL assessment

An RPL assessment is important for professionals who want to grow their career. This is a nationally recognized assessment, and this means that it can be accepted as a valid qualification. Getting an RPL course doesn’t necessarily mean going back to college and studying all over again. The course that is meant to improve and assess the skills and qualification that you already have on work experience. The good news is that there is also room for gap training in areas where you feel that you want to improve your skills in the job.

RPL assessment

RPL review

The first step is reviewing your skills. This is done to determine if you are ready to be awarded the RPL certificate. In the RPL review, an overall look of your skills is conducted. This is usually done under the supervision of RPL specialist who will walk with you throughout the process. If you are experienced, and you have some skills in your area of specialization, then the process should be very easy for you.

Eligibility

The eligibility stage is done right after the review. This is to determine the RPL level that you qualify for. There are times when you will find that you qualify for multiple RPL areas of specialization. This is even better because it means higher qualification. The eligibility is based on the review that you took during the initial time of assessment.

Submit evidence of skills and experience

To get an RPL certification, you need to show some evidence that you have the skills and experience that you claim to have. The evidence might be in the form of resume with contacts of former employers. The evidence should be something that shows that you have been exposed to your area of skills and you have the knowledge and experience required.

Approval and qualification are in the last stages of the process. Here you are approved and given the qualification that you deserve based on your skills and experience.
